The beginning part of this post is when Berls blames someone else for her idea! ๐
Can we just preface this post by saying that it’s all Bookworm Brandee‘s fault? I was reading her review of Taking Turns by J.A. Huss and she opened the review saying, “I’ve read and reviewed every one of JA Huss’ books…” and I thought, “Man, I wish I could say that!” And then I started thinking of all the authors I really like that I’ve only read a handful of their books. The idea sprouted and I texted Michelle @ Because Reading and the rest is history. We’re hosting another challenge. We can’t help ourselves. You ready for it?
Welcome to the Author Love Challenge 2017. This is, by far, our most low-key challenge, though. Yes, we’re starting a month behind. But it’s so low-key, there’s no reason you can’t make it without January. And if you read books that would count in January, apply them!
The Rules
- Pick an author that you love and wish you’d read more of their books.
- Set a goal to read x number of books by that author by the end of the year. You can make your goal to read all their books, but all we ask is that your goal be at least 5. If you’d like a more hard-core challenge to READ ALL THE BOOKS – check out Ana @ Herding Cat and Burning Soup’s challenge (linked).
- Announce your participation, author, and goal in a blog post, goodreads post, FB post, etc. and link up below.
- Have fun finally catching up with a favorite author!
See what I mean about low-key? But I think it will be so much fun to really focus on catching up on an author this year. Join us, grab a button and tweet your progress with #authorluv17! One author, one year. How many can you read?
Berls & Michelle are at it again! Join them with #authorluv17 challenge! Share on X
I finally decided to sign up. It was so hard to pick an author, but I ended up going with Kristin Hannah as I love her novels, but I have quite a few to read before I’m caught up.
I also had a hard time picking. Glad you are joining! ๐
I’ve been contemplating this challenge since I saw the post and think I will sign up a little later after I make a decision on which author to read. I’ve got three in particular, but I don’t want to get over-ambitious and choose all three of them.
This sounds like a great low-key challenge, which aligns right with my goal of finishing series this year!
I’m in!!! signed up to read Samantha Young.
I might do this one, because it would go well with The Backlist Reader Challenge (which I tried to link, but it isn’t letting me.) I’ll think about it for a day or two, since I’m trying to keep my challenges to a minimum… but I really think I’ll do it. The biggest problem will be picking which author to focus on!
oh LOL!!! Too funny, it’s all Brandee’s fault (as usual *grins* *tackle-hugs Brandee*) yeah? I have a couple of Huss books I haven’t read yet, but apart from that, I think I’m mostly up to date. I think it’s a great challenge idea, but I have trouble keeping up these days, so I’ll hold off for now. Are we allowed to sign up later in the year – this being so laid-back and all? ๐
{{{HUGS}}}
Yes you can sign up later in the year.
Sounds like fun! I am sort of doing this with the Backlister Challenge. I love how low-key this is. And yes you are all the queens of challenges!
LOL I did blame someone else huh? But it IS Brandee’s fault! If she hadn’t said that I wouldn’t have felt compelled to catch up ๐
Lol ๐
LMAO Well, I guess if it’s all my fault, I have to participate, yeah?? Honestly though, I feel no guilt. None. I’m thrilled to share the love. Now…I have to decide on an author…. AND I am participating in Anna’s challenge as well but I’ll pick a different author for this one. Good luck in catching up! Are you picking Huss?!?
