Eight mighty island warriors battle to become king. The deciding factor? The one who comes last, of course!
Eight islands represented by their best warriors must battle it out in a tournament to decide their king. To win this battle of endurance, it’s not the last one standing but the last one coming that matters!
The tournament to choose the next king of the islands is about to begin. The rules are simple—whoever comes first loses! Participating warriors protect their mighty swords with armor that grows larger and more elaborate with each tournament. But one warrior has returned from studying abroad with a technique certain to force a pleasurable eruption! Is there a competitor alive able to withstand it? Or is this deft warrior destined to become king?!
First Impression: Why did you want to read this book?
A friend at work, insisted this was really good and we all got a good laugh at the cover but seriously she insisted it was a good book. So of course regardless of how awesome the cover is (because it really is) I had to read it for myself, after reading the synopsis how could I pass this one up?
Tell me a little about the Characters and/or world build (if any)?
I LOVED the characters in this book. They were so freaking sweet and I just loved them all. You would think this book was just a lot of MM porn but no, it had a lot of character build and just some really super sweet moment. Each character was going through a struggle about the competition and a few of them where torn between winning and being with that one person they truly loved. It was just not what I was expecting and I can’t wait for volume 2. (which I have)
What was your favorite thing about this book?
The depth of the characters, between back stories and love interests, I love that this book focused a lot on each character.
What didn’t you like about the book?
I think I would have liked it to have a little more of the world build, they had some reasons for everything but overall, I just wanted to know more history about the fights and how they started. I just was an interesting concept.
Thoughts after reading: Overall Rating and Why?
I gave this one 4 star, I did love the idea of this book and while the fight was to see how can make the other guy “finish” first. It was a very interesting read. I was very surprised by how well it was done and how amazing the character build and story was. It has a few areas, I had to reread over because I got confused and might be a miss in translation but overall this was worth the read and I really did enjoy it. Can’t wait to read volume 2

Have a great day and Happy Reading!

Sometimes you need more world building.
